Why this blog?

In the spring of 2025, while eating supper with a group of students/pilgrims from Europe in the restaurant of the HPTDC Tourist Inn in Rewalsar (Tso Pema) I got landed with a job. This was not expected. Leading the group was Lama Karma Lhundup, who had spoken in the past of interviews that he had facilitated with some of the nuns who live and practise in the caves high above the town, and for which he had interpreted. He had for years provided significant material and other support to these nuns. In the course of this meal the idea took form that these stories about how the nuns came to be there, the sometimes heroic escape journeys they had made, and the hardships they had undergone, should see the light of day. The stories, and the insights they bring with them, need to be prepared, presented and published in some way, perhaps as a book - who knows? And if it ever made any profit, all of that would go to support those brave nuns and retreatants. (I know, I know - "in our dreams...
